X.Cyr.1.6.3), though the two were freq. used without distinction:I Relat., with the ind., mostly with reference to the past, when, Il.1.399,3.173, etc. ; the ind. ἦστε is omitted, 8.230 : in Class. [dialect] Att. Prose only ὅτε is so used, when referring to a particular time, but later ὁπότε returns, as ὁπότε περιῆν when she was alive, POxy.243.10(i A. Iliad. 11, 306), der weiße, Hom. zweimal, als Beiwort des Notos, Iliad. 11, 306 ὡς ὁπότε νέφεα Ζέφυρος στυφελίξῃ ἀργεστᾶο Νότοιο u. 21, 334 Ζεφύροιο καὶ ἀργεστᾶο Νότοιο ἐξ ἁλόϑεν ὄρσουσα ϑύελλαν; nach Aristarch ist der ἀργεστὴς Νότος der sogenannte Λευκόνοτος, Scholl. Aristonic. Iliad. 11, 306 πρὸς τὸ σημαινόμενον, ὅτι τὰ συνιστάμενα ὑπὸ τοῠ Λευκονότου νέφη ὁ Ζέφυρος διατινάσσει. ders. 21, 334 ἀργεστᾶο Νότοιο: τοῠ λεγομένου Λευκονότου; vgl. Apollon. Lex. 42, 26. Bei Hes. Th. 379. 870 heißt so der Zephyrus. Bei Arist. Meteor. 2, 6 ( ἀπὸ δυσμῆς ϑερινῆς), Theophr. u. Sp. ein eigener Nordwestwind. So Leon. Al. 15 (IX, 42).
